Madame Huguette Verhague hid the crew of a Handley Paige Halifax from 102 squadron along with Phillip Hemmens whose 49 squadron Lancaster crashed at La Villenaise about 3 miles away. She also hid a Canadian Spitfire pilot Hugh Nixon and Theodore Baskette a B17 pilot.
